Shy Bird is an all-day café, rotisserie and bar located in bustling Kendall Square. As Branch Line Arsenal’s little sister, it’s the rare kind of fast-casual where you can dunk your fried chicken nuggets by day and request a sommelier to pair with your braised short ribs by night. Somehow, it just works.
The story of Shy Bird begins with the red junglefowl—the everyday chicken’s wild, flashy and very shy ancestor. As the birds evolved, they traded their expressive beauty for fearless confidence and became an important part of our daily lives as domesticated animals. Similarly, this identity plays on the idea of finding the extraordinary in the everyday and proudly embracing the mundane.
Our logotype is based on the geometric sans-serif, Spoof, with custom features. The bowl of the “S” is reminiscent of a roosting hen, while the custom leg on the “R” mimics the motion of a proud, strutting bird.
